HONORS
AND AWARDS
- The
article, S.J. Lee, et al., "Bayesian Image Reconstruction in
SPECT Using Higher-Order Mechanical Models as Priors", IEEE Trans.
Medical Imaging, 14, pp.669-680, Dec 1995, was summarized in the Yearbook
of Nuclear Medicine 1997, A. Gottshalk, ed.,
pp.374-375.
- Student
Fellowship Award, Education and Research Foundation of the Society of
Nuclear Medicine, New York,
NY, U.S.A.,
1994.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
- My
broad research interests are in the fields of image processing, computer
vision, signal processing, and medical imaging. In particular, I am
interested in innovative approaches to interdisciplinary applications in medicine
such as tomographic image reconstruction.
- Currently,
I am working on an application of estimation theoretic principles to the
image reconstruction problems in emission computed tomography and magnetic
resonance imaging. The approach in this problem is based on a Bayesian estimation. To model the prior probabilities
on the underlying object, mechanical models used for the surface
reconstruction problem in computer vision are utilized.
- Future
research interests include hyperparameter
estimation in Bayesian approaches, fast Bayesian image reconstruction
methods, image segmentation, analysis, and registration.
